The purpose of the study: to examine the possibility of external counterpulsation in complex treatment of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Materials and methods. The study included 71 patients with coronary artery disease and heart failure. They were distributed in the intervention group and control group. No significant differences between patients in both groups on the main clinical and anthropometric data were observed. Used methods. ECG, echocardiography, the Celemajer D test on endothelium-dependent vasodilation, tetrapolar chest impedansometriya, the definition of IV-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor, six-minute walk test. Intervention. The main group of patients against a background of standard treatment received 35 procedures of an external counterpulsation therapy (ECP). Results. In patients of the intervention group in 84% of cases ECP provided additional clinical benefit, as well as improvement in endothelial function occurred.
