In Russia the problem of cardiac rehabilitation in elderly receives insufficient focus. However, due to the population aging, the number of patients in the cardiology practice is constantly growing. Implementation of rehabilitation measures in patients of older age groups is a difficult task, considering the presence of comorbid diseases and age-related changes in the organs and systems as well. This review discusses current issues of physical training for elderly patients, including own data on skeletal muscles electrostimulation, the further development of research on this issue within the framework of RosOKR (или Ros SCR) is proposed.
