Fever, especially in infants and toddler, is one of the most frequent causes of calls to pediatricians. Despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of cases of fever are caused by self-terminating viral respiratory infections, the causes can be serious bacterial infections, immune and oncological diseases. Problems of diagnostics and differential diagnostics are discussed. Ibuprofen is the first to be the symptomatic pharmacological agent. Key words: children, fever, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment, ibuprofen.
