Skin itch is the most common patient’s complaint at a dermatologist’s appointment. Most often, the itching is caused by such dermatological diseases as skin xerosis, atopic dermatitis, contact-allergic dermatitis, urticaria, etc. Quite often, the long-existing focus of itching can cause the building of stereotypical responces and chronization of dermathosis, and needs urgent intensive treatment. The article presents the detailed data of the etiology and pathogenesis of itching on different dermatoses, as well as the tactics of management of patients with this pathology.
Key words: itching, xerosis, atopic dermatitis, contact-allergic dermatitis, urticaria, symptom management.
