As of now, metabolic syndrome (MS) is one of the most significant social and priority problems of medicine. MS is known to promote earlier and pronounced target organ damage (TOD) in patients with arterial hypertension (AH). However, the association of the number of simultaneously encountered MS components with the severity of AH and TOD and the identification of certain MS components affecting the magnitude of TOD have been inadequately investigated. This study has established that there is an increase in the extent and degree of TOD with the larger number of MS components, which is attended by a higher risk for cardiovascular events.
