Аннотация

В статье дана характеристика процесса старения населения с демографической, научной и медицинской точек зрения. Описаны достижения и существующие проблемы в области оказания медицинской помощи лицам старшего возраста. Изложена основная концепция развития гериатрической помощи в Российской Федерации.

Ключевые слова: старение населения, гериатрия, качество жизни.

The paper presents the characteristics of population aging demographic, scientific and medical point of view. It presents the achievements and existing problems in the field of medical assistance to persons of advanced age. It outlines the basic concept of development of geriatric care in the Russian Federation.

Key words: aging, geriatric medicine, quality of life.
